Most people would be shocked to know that the Bubble Bank concept has existed for over 25 years and that over 700,000 banks have been sold. Many people consider us the best kept secret in the toy and fundraising realm because almost no one knows about us…yet. Even most of our customers don’t know the real “story” behind the creation of Bubble Banks. As with most great ideas, it was random. Our founder, John Chesnut, was being chased down by a goose in Florida and had an epiphany when most would have been annoyed. The goose wanted John’s sandwich and the higher he raised the sandwich, the higher the goose stretched his neck. Out of nowhere the inspiration struck to create a wooden bank that would “eat your money”.

He immediately went home and rigged up his goose contraption and began toting them around the craft shows he was selling his hand made puzzles at. The goose was such a huge hit that many people began requesting to buy one for themselves. John kindly said they were not for sale because they cost over $300.00 to make. It was not until two ladies threatened to have him banned from the show if he didn’t make them a goose bank that he went to the drawing board and figured out how to make them economical and safe to ship. Since he was making two, he decided he would make some extras and went to a show unsure how they would sell compared to his popular puzzles.

After selling over 900 banks in one show, the puzzles became a distant memory and he began the process of designing what is now over 60 different banks. As we look to the future, we are consistently on the look out for the next random moment and big idea…we think we just may have found it with The Obama Bank.

FILL-osophy
It is not hard to “fill” the bank, it's deciding what to do once it is full. Our vision was revealed 9 years ago with an honest but basic question …how do you know when enough money is enough? The response given by the speaker was a simple but profound summation of wisdom from John Wesley: Make all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can. It was not realized at the time but those words have shaped the direction of our actions and the companies we have started. Everything we have committed ourselves to has been with the goal of being efficient in creating wealth but not for the sake of a large bank account. Our desire is to leverage our talents three fold: to funnel significant money to those in need, be wise stewards by saving, and to provide a quality life for our families and loved ones. To sum it up simply: Give, Save, Spend…in that order. We saw an opportunity with Bubble Banks to accomplish these principles in a way we had never encountered and we hope that however or whoever owns our banks is inspired in their own way to Give, Save, and Spend.
